Committee of Adjustment
The Committee of Adjustment is a quasi-judicial board established in accordance with Section 44 of the Planning Act. The Committee is responsible for making decisions on consent applications, minor variance applications, enlargement of existing non-conforming uses, and other technical matters set out by the provisions of the Planning Act.

The Committee follows a mandatory public notification procedure for all applications. The Committee hears from applicants, neighbours, required agencies, and/or other interested parties and reviews applicable Official Plan and Zoning Bylaw policy to make decisions on applications.
The Committee of Adjustment is made up of 5 members, appointed by Council, and are local residents not sitting on Town Council. The committee works with the Secretary-Treasurer & Director of Planning. The committee does not report to Council or staff, and their decisions are only appealable to the Ontario Municipal Board.
Meetings are held on the first Tuesday of every other month, as needed, at 7 p.m. in the Municipal Office Committee Meeting Room.
