Credit Valley Conservation: Invasive Species Spraying at Monora Park
Credit Valley Conservation will be controlling invasive willow species and phragmites at Monora Park to protect and encourage the growth of native plants. This work is scheduled for two weeks: July 27 to July 30 and August 24 to August 27.
Canada Day Town Hall Closure, Waste Collection Interruption
Town Hall will be closed tomorrow (July 1) for Canada Day! There will be no waste collection on July 1. Waste will be collected one day later for those whose waste is normally collected on Wednesday or Thursday.
Keep Watch! Turtle (and Other Wildlife) Crossings on Roads
When driving, please slow down and watch for wildlife. Turtles will soon be searching for a nesting location to lay their eggs. You will likely see many along the sides of roads and trails, especially close to bridges and wetlands.
Town of Mono Receives Jumpstart Grant for Youth Soccer Program
The Town of Mono is excited to announced that it has been selected to receive a grant from Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities! With the funds, we will be able to acquire new soccer nets to replace our ageing nets that are no longer in safe or usable condition. We will also be able to provide our volunteer coaches with kits that have the supplies and resources they need to be successful in supporting their teams.
Notice: Hydrant Flushing — Starting June 22, 2026

The Town of Mono's operating authority will be performing hydrant flushing in the Cardinal Woods and Island Lake Drinking Water Systems starting Monday, June 22, 2026. Due to sedimentation, the flushing may cause discolouration of the water. Please check your cold-water supply before using. If discolouration occurs, let the cold water run until it clears. The Town expects this preventative maintenance process to have minimal impact on residents.

What Should I do if I Find a Tick on Me, a Loved One, or a Pet? Ticks should be removed as soon as possible to reduce the risk of infection. Ticks should be removed carefully with a tweezers or tick removal tool to prevent the tick from releasing its stomach contents, which can increase the chance of infection.
Catch Basin Cleaning Program
The Town of Mono's Public Works Department will be conducting catch basin cleaning throughout the municipality using a vacuum truck over the coming weeks.
2026 Landfill Openings

The Town of Mono’s landfill site located at 795261 3rd Line (between Mono Centre Road and 25 Sideroad) will be open to residents in May 2026.

Notice of Bridge 5 Reconstruction — Hurontario Street Road Closure
Hurontario Street, between Dufferin Road 7 (Hockley Road) & 10 Sideroad, will remain closed to thru traffic this summer for the reconstruction of Bridge 5. Construction is expected to commence sometime in June/July, with a fall 2026 completion.
