The Town of Mono will be applying calcium chloride to gravel roads in the month of May, weather pending. Da-Lee Dust Control has been contracted by the Town. The process takes approximately one month to complete, depending on weather conditions.
Calcium chloride has been used for over a century as an effective and cost-efficient solution for dust control and road stabilization. When applied in liquid form, it draws moisture from the air, keeping roads damp even in dry conditions. This helps bind fine particles together, creating a hard, compacted surface that enhances road stability over time with regular seasonal applications.
