Who to Call

Hunting or Discharge of a Firearm / Gun on Your Property without Permission, Trespassing, or Suspected Poaching:

Call the Natural Resources Violation Reporting Line: 1-877-TIPS-MNR (1-877-847-7667).

As well as the Natural Resources Violation Reporting Line, you may also report cases of trespassing or suspected poaching to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

These numbers are not emergency response numbers. If your call is an emergency, please call 911.

There is no hunting allowed at any time in the Mono forest tracts or on the following Dufferin County Forest properties: north portion of Amaranth, Hockley, Leening, Levitt, Little, Main, Mono, Thomson, and River Road. These are posted accordingly. Suspected violations of the Fish & Wildlife Conservation Act should be reported to the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry at 877-847-7667 (877-TIPS-MNR).  Other inquiries should be directed to the County Forest Manager at 877-941-7787.

Hunting on Private Property

Hunting on private property is permitted with the explicit permission of the property owner and in accordance with the Fish & Wildlife Conservation Act.

Firearms / Guns at Night

Discharging a firearm / gun is restricted from half an hour after sunset to half an hour before sunrise in Mono (see Bylaw Number 2019-46). This bylaw mirrors the time period in the Ontario hunting restrictions and was passed on September 10, 2019.

This bylaw does not apply to police or conservation officers among others, or to farmers protecting their livestock from prey.

2025 – 2026 Key Hunting Seasons

The peak periods for hunting in the Dufferin County Forest are the two five-day shotgun hunts for white-tailed deer (November 3-7 and December 1-5, 2025) and the spring shotgun/archery season for wild turkey (April 25-May 31 annually).

In addition, be particularly aware of:

  • Archery seasons for white-tailed deer: October 1 – November 2, 2025; November 8 – November 30, 2025; and December 6 – 31, 2025
  • Archery season for wild turkey: October 1 – 31, 2025
  • Shotgun/archery season for wild turkey: October 14 – 26, 2025; and April 25 – May 31, 2026

Once a request for vendor table is received, a staff member will be in contact to secure your table and process payment.

  • Rental fee is non-refundable.

  • ONE  TABLE and TWO CHAIRS will be provided per rental fee. Table and chairs are the property of the Organizer and damage to them must be paid for by the Vendor.

  • Pets, alcoholic beverages, and smoking are prohibited.

  • The Town of Mono is not responsible for accidents or injuries during the set-up of the event, the event, or tearing down the event. This includes people assisting Vendors.

  • The Town of Mono is not responsible for lost or stolen merchandise and/or money.
    ‍
  • Vendors will have access to set-up their table on Friday, November 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, November 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Elevator is available for use.

  • Burning candles is prohibited.
    ‍
  • Vendors are requested to remain set-up until the close of the event at 4:00 p.m. All items that were brought by the Vendor must be removed by the Vendor.

  • The Vendor will not sublet or rent out their assigned space at any time.

  • The Organizer is permitted to take photographs of the booths, Vendors and the event. The Organizer is permitted to use these photographs for advertisement or promotion purposes.

  • Nothing can be glued, taped, or tacked to the walls.
    ‍
  • Electricity is available but limited. Please let us know in advance if you will need it. Extension cords will not be provided. Cords must be secured to the floors with tape.

  • Limited internet available. Internet is not guaranteed at all times.
    ‍
  • Vendors are responsible for their own cashbox and table covering.
    ‍
  • Payment will secure your table at the event.
