Regional Transit Study

Rogers fastest fibre-powered internet† and TV is coming to Mono

The Counties of Bruce, Dufferin, Grey, and Wellington, in partnership with Saugeen Mobility and Regional Transit (SMART), are inviting residents and businesses to share their transportation needs and priorities as part of a new Regional Transit Study.

This study is exploring opportunities to better connect communities across the four counties, including the potential for a unified regional transit network. The goal is to make travel easier, improve coordination among services, and expand transit options in areas that are currently underserved.

A public survey is now open until January 25, 2026. Residents are encouraged to share how they currently travel, what matters most to them when it comes to transit, and their thoughts on existing transportation options in the region.

With population growth, aging demographics, and rising costs increasing demand for transportation in rural communities, your input will help shape future transit planning across Bruce, Dufferin, Grey, and Wellington Counties.

Study Phases

The study will take place in two phases: 

  1. Phase 1: Developing the Plan (Fall 2025 to Spring 2026)
  2. Phase 2: Implementation and Operation (2026 to 2030)

The Regional Transit Study team will be hosting three public open houses in January:

  1. January 10th, 2026 from 11:30 AM to 3:30 PM at Alder Street Arena, 275 Alder Street, Orangeville
  2. January 14th, 2026 from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM via webinar. You can register for the webinar (Zoom) online
  3. January 17th, 2026 from 11:30 AM to 2:30 PM at Mount Forest Arena, 850 Princess Street, Mount Forest

Once a request for vendor table is received, a staff member will be in contact to secure your table and process payment.

  • Rental fee is non-refundable.

  • ONE  TABLE and TWO CHAIRS will be provided per rental fee. Table and chairs are the property of the Organizer and damage to them must be paid for by the Vendor.

  • Pets, alcoholic beverages, and smoking are prohibited.

  • The Town of Mono is not responsible for accidents or injuries during the set-up of the event, the event, or tearing down the event. This includes people assisting Vendors.

  • The Town of Mono is not responsible for lost or stolen merchandise and/or money.

  • Vendors will have access to set-up their table on Friday, November 7 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, November 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. Elevator is available for use.

  • Burning candles is prohibited.

  • Vendors are requested to remain set-up until the close of the event at 4:00 p.m. All items that were brought by the Vendor must be removed by the Vendor.

  • The Vendor will not sublet or rent out their assigned space at any time.

  • The Organizer is permitted to take photographs of the booths, Vendors and the event. The Organizer is permitted to use these photographs for advertisement or promotion purposes.

  • Nothing can be glued, taped, or tacked to the walls.
    ‍
  • Electricity is available but limited. Please let us know in advance if you will need it. Extension cords will not be provided. Cords must be secured to the floors with tape.

  • Limited internet available. Internet is not guaranteed at all times.

  • Vendors are responsible for their own cashbox and table covering.

  • Payment will secure your table at the event.
