The Town of Mono is seeking candidates for the position of Recreation Administrative Assistant for the Recreation Department. The position focuses on the co-ordination and administration of facility bookings and liaising with renters and user groups of the town facilities. In addition, this position will also include coordinating, marketing and assisting with delivery of recreational programs for the Town of Mono to provide recreational opportunities and encourage and promote a healthy lifestyle for all community residents. Programs will include special one day events, sport programs, and general programs for children, youth, adults, seniors and families. Duties will also include administrative assistance to the Director of Recreation.
The successful candidate will hold a 2-year college diploma in Recreation and Leisure Studies or related field, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in recreation, preferably in a municipal environment. High Five Certification is considered an asset. Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft office, Web Page Design, flyer design, facility booking software, work order scheduling program, i.e. CityWide and social media. Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication, time management and problem-solving skills. Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision. Work hours will occasionally include weekends and weeknights as necessary. Valid Ontario G Driver’s License, a clean driving abstract, and access to a reliable vehicle are required.
This is a permanent full-time 35-hour per week position with evening and occasional weekend requirements. The Recreation Administrative Assistant is at Grade 5: $35.28 to $41.27 per hour on the Town’s 2026 Salary Grid. A benefit plan comprised of health and dental, sick and vacation entitlements and enrolment in OMERS pension plan is also included.
