January 26, 2026 Update: Significant Weather Event Has Ended

The Significant Weather Event has ended as of 2:00 PM on January 26, 2026.

January 23, 2026 Significant Weather Event Details: 

A significant weather event has been declared due to snow squalls and blowing snow leading to poor visibility.

Discussion:

Visibility will likely be suddenly reduced to near zero at times. Roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions. Consider postponing non-essential travel and outdoor activities until conditions improve.

This declaration is made as it relates to Ontario's Minimum Maintenance Standards for Municipal Highways. The Town reminds drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution when using the Town's roads and sidewalks and, as always, to drive or walk as the road or sidewalk conditions allow. The Town will issue public notice when this significant weather event has ended.
