Crews have repaired the watermain and are starting to fill it with water. Residents affected may have air in their system and may experience brown water. The water is potable and safe, but it is recommended to run the water until it is clear.
Excavation backfill is occurring at 8 pm and roadway will be open by the morning (October 8, 2023). Boulevard, Asphalt and Concrete curb repairs will commence in the coming weeks.

At around 4:00 am today (October 7, 2023), there was a watermain break near the intersection of Hawthorne Rd. & Orchard Dr. in the Cardinal Woods subdivision. The Town’s Operating Authority was on site shortly after and isolated/controlled the break.
A repair will need to be completed that will affect 29 – 48 Hawthorne and 1-6 Orchard (17 homes). Residents throughout the Cardinal Woods water system may also experience no water or dirty water today.
It is anticipated that repairs will begin around 9 am this morning. Traffic at the Orchard/Hawthorne intersection will likely need to be reduced and may need to be closed.
