An Invitation to Neighbours and Visitors
Island Lake Conservation Area (ILCA) is located in the Towns of Mono and Orangeville and encompasses 329 hectares. It’s an outdoor destination and local landmark that contains a diversity of habitats and sensitive species.
A New Park Management Plan
Credit Valley Conservation is developing a new management plan for ILCA. The plan will guide the management and development of the park for the next 25 years.
The new plan describes the vision for
ILCA. It will outline priority areas for
ecological restoration, where capital investments are needed, and what
recreational activities and visitor experiences will be offered at the park.
When Will the Management Plan Be Completed?
Get Involved
The CVC's next public meeting will be held virtually on September 29, 2021 from 7 to 9 p.m. The CVC will share the vision developed for ILCA, walk through the conceptual plans and discuss how they will realize this vision. For more information and to register, visit cvc.ca/ilmp.
Virtual consultation is not ideal for everyone. Contact Kate Burgess, Conservation Lands Planner, at [email protected] or call (905) 670-1615 ext. 386 to discuss this project.
The CVC began community consultation for the ILCA management plan in Fall 2020 with an online survey. The first public meeting took place in April 2021. To date, over 1,000 comments from members of the public and agency partners have been received. Information on previous consultation activities and survey summaries can be found at cvc.ca/ilmp.
