Town of Mono PENHC will hold an In-Person meeting to review a Planning Report on Backyard Hens. Any person or agency may participate in the meeting and/or make written submission either in support of, or in opposition to, the options outlined in the report. Written comments must be submitted to the Town in conjunction with the Public Meeting.

Subject: Report for Discussion: “Review of Backyard Hens – Information Summary.”
Purpose: To provide PENHC with an overview of this subject including potential for the Town to permit the keeping of hens on residential properties outside of the “Rural (A) Zone”. In addition, this report will provide a summary of relevant Town of Mono Zoning Bylaw provisions which regulate permissions for the keeping of hens in Mono.

- Any person or agency may participate in the meeting and/or make a written submission either in support of, or in opposition to, the proposed Applications. Written comments must be submitted to the Town Clerk prior to the Public Meeting on May 16th, 2024 at 7:00 pm.
- Comments and opinions submitted on this matter, including the author’s name, address and/or email address, become part of the public record and may be viewed by the public and/or published in Municipal reports, documents and/or agendas.
- If you wish to be notified of any Town Council decision(s) regarding the proposed Applications, you must make a written request to the Town Clerk.
- If a person or public body would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of Council to the Ontario Lands Tribunal (OLT) but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Town before the by-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
- This Notice provides interested citizens and stakeholders with an opportunity to attend this In-Person Meeting concerning of keeping backyard hens.
