There will be a road closure along Mono-Adjala Townline between Simcoe Road 1 and 15 Sideroad for a bridge rehabilitation project. The bridge is located approximately 200 metres north of Simcoe Road 1.
It is expected that the road will be closed to thru traffic on August 19th. Construction will take approximately 4 months to complete. During the road closure, traffic will be detoured through Adjala-Tosorontio, via the 4th Line and 20 Sideroad.
The work is being administered by the Counties of Simcoe and Dufferin.

More About this Project:
The County of Simcoe has awarded a Contract for the Rehabilitation of the Nottawasaga Mono-Adjala Townline Bridge over the Nottawasaga River, located between Side Road 15 and County Road 1, in the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio, to Graham Bros. Construction Ltd.
The construction project involves the removal and replacement of the concrete end posts, railings, raised concrete curb and cantilevered deck slab, elimination of the expansion joints (semi-integral conversion), general concrete repairs to the deck slab, construction of approach slabs, waterproofing and asphalt paving, curb and gutter and installation of steel beam guide rail and energy attenuators.
Mobilization and site preparation will begin the week of August 6, 2024. Construction will be commencing on Monday, August 19, 2024 and it is expected to continue until December 2024.
Mono Adjala Townline will be closed to all traffic at the bridge (no access across the river) for the duration of construction. Signage and a portable variable message sign board will be put in place along Mono Adjala Townline between County Road 1 and Side Road 20 in advance of the full closure. The suggested detour route will take traffic along Simcoe County Road 1, Concession 4 (Adjala) and Side Road 20 (Adjala). There will be no signage will be placed along the detour route.
How will I get to My Residence or Business?
The contractor is required to maintain access to all homes, field entrances, and businesses throughout construction.
Pedestrian and emergency vehicle access to homes and businesses will also be maintained at all times during construction.
The contractor will give advance notice of any access restrictions to any residence and/or business.
If you have any special needs for wheelchair access, please advise DDA.
Will My Services Be Affected?
Telephone, electrical, cable TV, fibre optic internet and gas services should not be affected by the construction, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
Safety:
Construction involves the use of heavy equipment and the unavoidable creation of obstacles.
These circumstances are often attractive to children, and as such, we ask that you caution your children to stay clear of the working area.
While the contractor is required to conduct the work in a safe manner, we ask that you take extra caution during the construction period to ensure everyone’s safety.
