The Council for the Town of Mono is accepting applications from individuals interested in being appointed as a member of the following committees for the 2022 – 2026 Term of Council. Applications will be accepted until January 30th, 2023 by applying online.
Committees
Committee of Adjustment
Considers and makes decisions with respect to applications for minor variances and consents in accordance with the provisions of provincial legislation and with the Town's Official Plan and Zoning By-law.
Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee
Provides advice and recommendations to council to help ensure that council applies a diversity, equity and inclusion lens to its policies, services, programs and practices.
Headwaters Streams Committee
The committee works with existing groups such as conservation authorities and stewardship groups to channel grant money, donations and volunteer citizen participation into projects that monitor, protect, enhance or rehabilitate surface water flows in Dufferin County.
Heritage Advisory Committee
Advise and assist council on matters of cultural heritage including the evaluation of buildings and properties of architectural and/or historical value or interest. Members should have experience and general knowledge of local architectural style and history.
Planning, Environment and Natural Heritage Committee
Serves in an advisory capacity to council on planning and land use matters with respect to natural heritage and other environmental matters including climate change.
Pollinator Garden Management Committee
Responsible for matters relating to the pollinator garden located at 246366 Hockley Road. The committee makes management decisions with respect to the garden’s programs and budget.
Recreation Advisory Committee
Provides support to Town recreation events and activities. Members of this committee both attend committee meetings and volunteer at community events.
