The draft bylaw contains a definition of “Noise” that is as follows:

“Noise” means a sound or vibration that at the point of reception, by its volume or nature, is likely to disturb the inhabitants.

This definition is supported by extensive case law. While it may seem counter intuitive, the courts have determined that the definition is objective as a reasonable person can discern if a sound is likely to disturb not just an individual, but the inhabitants.

Alternative Ways to Take the Survey

If you cannot access the survey on this page or prefer to fill out a physical copy of the survey, you can find two versions below. One has fillable fields that you can complete and then print off. The other one you can print off and then fill out. This is the same version of the survey that was mailed out to Mono residents. If you print out a completed survey, you must mail or drop it off to Town Hall (347209 Mono Centre Road, Mono, ON L9W 6S3).
