Property owners in Dufferin County may qualify for the Tax Relief for Low Income Seniors and Low Income Persons with Disabilities program. The 2019 Property Tax Relief Program does not have many changes over last year; however, the $50.00 threshold has been removed and Dufferin County will be refunding the entire increase in property taxes from 2018 to 2019. 

Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria is the same this year as last year:

  • 65 years or older
  • Owned home/farm property for 1 year prior
  • In receipt of the GIS (Guaranteed Income Supplement) or GAINS (Guaranteed Annual Income System)

Required Documents

The following are the documents required to apply:

Apply Before November 30

If you feel you meet the above criteria and would benefit from this program, complete the application and forward it along before November 30, 2019 with a copy of your final tax bill to the attention of The Treasurer at the following address:
