Between July 1st and July 25th 2020 the Town of Mono’s two dedicated traffic officers have stopped and charged 24 drivers for exceeding the posted speed limit by more than 50 km/h.

Local residents are not among those being apprehended. A review of occurrences reveals only two drivers actually reside in Dufferin County and none reside in Mono.

The average speed of these drivers was 140km/h with the fastest driver being locked in radar at 188km/h. The majority of these stunt driving offences took place on Highway 10 and Airport Rd. However, one stunt driver was apprehended on Mono Centre Rd. travelling 146 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone.

These occurrences reflect those drivers who were apprehended for stunt driving. PC Matkowski and Romaniuk have conducted visibility patrols and responded to or initiated close to 90 traffic related and criminal occurrences over that time frame.
