Headwaters launches COVID-19 Personal Protective Equipment Drive
Now more than ever Headwaters needs support from the communities we serve. The COVID-19 pandemic is putting significant strain on vital hospital resources including much-needed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE). Without these items, the Headwaters Health Care Centre cannot provide the care patients need. As the hospital continues to respond to the critical demand of COVID-19, Headwaters Health Care Centre is calling on the local communities to help them by donating any unused, unopened and unexpired PPE to the hospital. At this time, they cannot accept other related supplies, including hand-sewn masks.
Items needed include:
- Protective gloves
- Ear-loop masks
- N95 masks
- Vented goggles
“The outpouring of support from the community has been overwhelming,” said Kim Delahunt, President & CEO. “We have developed a process to help streamline the many offers we have had and hopefully will continue to have from local businesses.”
Deliveries can be made to Headwaters’ shipping and receiving department at 100 Rolling Hills Drive, Orangeville, Ontario L9W 4X9. Monday to Friday from 8am to 3:30pm.
All donations will be inspected, assessed, cleaned and disinfected (where possible). An online donation form is available on the hospital’s website to make the drop off easier. If you don’t have a form, a member of the team will provide one for the items donated.
People can also support the hospital by making an online donation to Headwaters Health Care Foundation.
“We are in this together,” said Dora Boylen-Pabst, CEO, Headwaters Health Care Foundation, “Our team’s efforts are now focused on supporting the hospital during this health care crisis.”
Please note that if a tax receipt or gift acknowledgement is required for a product donation you should first contact Dora Boylen-Pabst, Foundation CEO, proof of fair market value will be required. Tax receipts will be provided for all cash/credit card donations over $20 made through the Headwaters Health Care Foundation website or by calling 519-941-2702 ext. 2303.
