Update Dated March 15, 2020
Town Hall will remain open at this time but visitors will be asked to self-screen before entering the building. Enhanced screening may be established at the Town Hall over the coming days. Members of the public who are not feeling well and are exhibiting symptoms such as cough, fever and respiratory illness are asked not to visit municipal facilities and to stay at home and contact Telehealth or their family physician. The Town will continue its efforts to encourage residents and businesses to interact with the Town online or on telephone instead of in-person, as much as possible.
“We understand from our local Public Health Unit that our risk remains low and that there have been no reported cases reported in Dufferin, however under these challenging times, we have taken this appropriate step to assist in further spread of the virus” said Mayor Laura Ryan. “We regret the inconvenience this may cause but we believe this is the best course of action at this time, based on current information available to us from the federal and provincial governments, and our local Public Health unit.”
