Dog owners are reminded to renew their dog licence by April 1, 2023. All dogs residing in Town of Mono are required to have a valid dog licence, renewable each year.
Existing dog licences may be renewed through the Town’s website or in-person at the Town Hall.
Keep your dog's current tag. Mono's dog tags are meant to last a very long time. They are meant to stay with your dog year after year; you will not receive a new dog tag after renewing your dog's licence.
The fee helps the Town pay for animal-related services from our service provider, including:
- Responding to calls from residents who have lost or found a pet or who have been bitten by a domestic animal
- Patrol for dogs that are at large and to then provide care for them
- Other services related to the Town's Dog Bylaw
Owners of licensed dogs will receive a renewal notice arriving by mail in early to mid-March. Residents are reminded to notify the Town if they no longer have a dog that was previously licensed. Residents with a new dog must obtain a licence.
As a reminder, residents can own up to three dogs per property.
Dog licences are valid from April 1 to March 31 each year. Dog licensing fees are $20 for each spayed or neutered dog, and $30 for each non-spayed or non-neutered dog.
Visit the Dog Licensing section of our website for more information.
