Further to the Emergency Road Closure ordered on May 24, 2021, and in continued support of ongoing measures to address unsafe roadside parking by people travelling to and from Mono Cliffs Provincial Park:
I, Laura Ryan, Mayor, issue this Order under the authority of the Emergency Management and Civil Protection Act, R.S.O. 1990, c. E.9 as a State of Emergency is deemed to exist and was declared to exist in the Town of Mono on March 31, 2020 due to the COVID-19 global pandemic.
Due to sustained and unprecedented volume of traffic, including vehicles parking within the road allowance, the safety of pedestrians and vehicles is in jeopardy.
This Order establishes an Emergency Road Closure on the following roads in the Town of Mono to all but local traffic:
- 25 Sideroad from 1st Line EHS to 3rd Line EHS.
- 2nd Line EHS from 25 Sideroad to 30 Sideroad.
- 2nd Line EHS from County Road 8 to the terminus north of 20 Sideroad.
- 20 Sideroad from 1st Line EHS to 2nd Line EHS.
This Order makes it an offence to park or stop on this road for reasons other than an emergency.
This Order may be enforced by OPP and Town of Mono Municipal Bylaw Enforcement Officers.
This Order takes effect May 28, 2021 at 4 p.m. EDT and remains in effect until rescinded.
