Notice of Pre-hearing Conference and Settlement Conference
A Pre-hearing Conference will be held on Thursday April 2nd, 2015 commencing at 10:30 a.m. with a Settlement Conference immediately afterwards. Both will be held at the Town of Mono Municipal Building.

Please be advised that Douglas Guy Cox (the Owner) and Soilcan Inc. (the Applicant) have requested a Hearing from the Normal Farm Practices Protection Board. Their application to the Board states that the Town’s Fill Bylaw 2014-31 is “affecting Mr. Cox’s farming practices. The purpose of the importation and grading of fill and topsoil is to rehabilitate agricultural land to a useable, farmable property which he has been farming for over 35 years with the intention to increase his sheep herd from 250 to over 500.” The Applicant has initiated this Hearing process to the Normal Farm Practices Protection Board to permit in Phase 1 the placement of 56,263 cubic metres of fill (approximately 7100 to 7500 truckloads) on the above property. The site plan details a second phase on the property, although no specifics are provided.
Council will receive a report on this matter at their regular Council meeting on TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 2015 at 7:15 p.m., at the Town of Mono Council Chambers located at 347209 Mono Centre Road (3 kms east of Highway 10/24).
