Pan Am Games Torch Relay
TORONTO 2015 Pan Am Games Torch Relay coming through town TODAY!
The threat of rain will not dampen our spirits nor delay the torch's arrival in Mono.
The Pan Am Games Torch Relay will be arriving at Mono Centre at 5:15 this afternoon, rain or shine. Ross Millar, will carry the torch on horseback, along with other members of the local equine community, also on horseback. Ross will carry the torch westbound on Mono Centre Road. Part way to Mono Community Centre, Ross will hand the torch over to Mono Community Torchbearer, Ethan Lawson. Ethan will then carry the torch to Mono Community Centre, arriving at the Centre at about 5:25 p.m. Once at Mono Community Centre, the flame will be transferred to a Torch Stand for the 30 minutes that it will remain at the Centre.
The Town will be hosting a Community Celebration at Mono Community Centre starting at 4 p.m. and running until the flame departs at 6 p.m. There will be live music by
LocoMono, a barbeque, activities for kids including face painting, a juggler and more.
Due to expected rain some of the activities will be moved indoors but the celebration goes on nonetheless.
Don't let a little rain dampen YOUR SPIRITS.
Join in the fun, celebrate the Pan Am Games and see Ross on horseback and Ethan on foot, carry the torch into Mono Community Centre.
