Please be advised that the Niagara Escarpment Commission has requested the Town of Mono to comment on the attached Application for Development Permit to recognize the unauthorized construction of an existing ±1985 sq. m. (±21,358 sq. ft.), 2 storey, ±11.0 m (±36.09 ft.) tall addition to an existing institutional building, on a 124.83 hectare (308.46) acre lot. The proposal also includes the construction of a 215 stall surface parking lot and an outdoor soccer field, volleyball court and tennis court. Additionally, 6 buildings with a total area of 515 sq m. (5542.8 sq. ft.) are proposed to be demolished, and another 280 sq. m. (3017.7 sq. ft.) are proposed to be decommissioned in the existing main monastery building.
The Town’s Planning and Environmental Advisory Committee will hold a public meeting to consider this Application on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2015 at 7:45 P.M. in the evening, at the Town of Mono Council Chambers located at 347209 Mono Centre Road (3 kms east of Highway 10/24). The Planning and Environmental Advisory Committee will receive public submissions on the matter; however, will only make recommendations to Council and does not make statutory decisions on applications.
Council of the Town of Mono will review submissions and recommendations received from the Planning and Environmental Advisory Committee at a Council meeting on Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at 7:15 in the evening, at the Town Council Chambers at the address shown above, and will consider comments to be forwarded to the Niagara Escarpment Commission.
If you are unable to attend, written submissions or emails are encouraged. We would appreciate that any written comments or emails on the above application be provided to the undersigned by Tuesday, March 3rd, 2015.
