Town Hall Meeting

November 12th, 2016

Town Hall Meeting logo Mono will be hosting a Town Hall Meeting on Saturday November 12th from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Monora Park.

A representative from the Municipal Property Assessment Corporation (MPAC) will give a presentation on the 2016 Assessment Update of property values and will be taking questions from the public. Council will also be seeking input from attendees on ideas to advance citizen engagement within the Town. The meeting will conclude with an open forum.

If you are unable to attend the Town Hall Meeting, you may submit a question to Council online.

Please note that questions should be submitted prior to 2:30 p.m. on Thursday November 10th, 2016 in order to be reviewed by Council prior to the Town Hall Meeting. While Council will review all questions submitted, due to time constraints, some questions submitted may not be raised during the Town Hall Meeting.

Yoga at Mono Community Centre

Fall Yoga Since this past July, the Town has been offering Yoga classes at Mono Community Centre. Instructor Veronica Munoz is a certified yoga instructor with over 18 years experience and is able to accommodate everyone's skill level and needs. The current session of classes continues through December 4th and will re-commence in the New Year. Classes are $10 each with season passes available to purchase online.

Mono Nordic Ski Club

Skiing at Monora Park Whether you prefer a leisurely ski through peaceful forest or a challenging workout, the Mono Nordic Ski Club's trails offer flat terrain, hills and curves with 20 km of classic and skate groomed trails and 2 km of lit trails for night skiing. The club operates from Monora Park & offers equipment rentals, day passes and ski instruction on weekends and most holidays. During the week, non-members are welcome to ski the trails using the collection boxes on the trails.

Mono On A Bike

The fifth annual Mono On A Bike community bike ride was held on September 10th, 2016. About 70 people ranging in age from 7 to 70 rode one of 4 courses available on the warm fall day. Our thanks to the volunteers and sponsors that make this event possible.

Children's Halloween Party

Fun at the Halloween party Mono held its Children's Halloween Party on Sunday October 23rd, 2016 at Mono Community Centre. Over 75 kids and their parents came out to enjoy an afternoon filled with entertainment, crafts and prizes. There was food, treats, and everyone went home with a loot bag too.

Each year volunteers from the Recreation Advisory Committee host this event with 2016 being the 27th Annual Children's Halloween Party. Thank you to all the kids, parents and volunteers for making this such an enduring tradition.

Dufferin Hi-Land Bruce Trail Club

Hiking the Bruce Trrail in Winter This winter the Dufferin Hi-Land Bruce Trail Club will again offer its Winter Badge. The four hikes required to earn this badge include both leisurely and moderate pace options in some of Dufferin’s most beautiful areas. The popular moonlight hikes will be held on January 14 and February 11, 2017. Daytime hikes are scheduled for January 21 and February 25. Snowshoes or icers are recommended for all hikes.
