The County of Dufferin is in the process of developing a strategy to provide a road map on how to best focus its efforts in Economic Development. This process will result in a contemporary and relevant economic development strategy with a 10-year outlook, and an implementing action plan with a 3-5 year timeframe.
The Monarch Manifesto, a personal pledge to protect the monarch butterfly by growing milkweed, reporting butterfly sightings, avoiding the use of herbicides and pesticides in yards and gardens, and encouraging others such as schools and garden centers to do their part is currently being promoted by the David Suzuki Foundation.
A new website called My DUFFERIN (www.mydufferin.ca) was launched on December 1. It is a redesign of the Dufferin Family Directory website, a directory of services in Dufferin County developed and maintained by Dufferin Coalition for Kids.
From the skiing to the skating to the snowshoeing, tobogganing and wagon rides the 400 or more people who attended on Sunday, January 29th to experience Mono in SnowMotion sure had plenty to keep them active. And Mother Nature even co-operated giving us a perfect day!
The fourth annual Compass Run for Food is being held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 in support of area food banks. The 5K & 10K routes are loops that take runners down Credit Valley Conservation’s beautiful and flat Lakeside Trail and Mono’s Baker Trail.
