Dufferin Town and Country Farm Tour
Saturday, September 28th, 2013
9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Dufferin Town & Country Farm Tour is an ideal venue to reconnect consumers to the producers of the food we eat.
Examples of agricultural heritage and the legacy of farming are all around us. The Farm Tour is your passport to understanding the diversity and complexity of agriculture by visiting farms in the centre of Dufferin. For many people travelling along our highways and rural roads, the bank barns, crops growing & livestock pasturing represent a clear and symbolic connection to generations of farming.
The tour provides an opportunity to learn about farming first hand. Come and tour farms in Dufferin and see farming as it happens. You will end your day enriched by the diversity of farming in Dufferin.
Other attractions include small animals, beekeeper with bees, dairy educator making butter with the kids, miniature horses, displays and hands on demonstrations. Be sure to bring cash and a cooler as there will be an opportunity to buy what farmers produce in vendor markets.
Admission for the farm tour is free with a donation for the local food bank.
