3rd Annual Bicycle Rodeo

Remember the feeling of first learning to ride a bicycle on your own — without training wheels and without a parent's balancing hand? Remember that sudden rush of freedom?

The Mono Community Policing Bike Rodeo is made up of a series of stations, each dealing with an important aspect of safe cycling. Participants will have their bicycles inspected and will then practice and learn about bicycle-handling skills that will increase their enjoyment of bicycling and could someday save their lives. Participants will practice the following essential skills:Bicycle Rodeo

  • Starting and stopping
  • Safely exiting a driveway
  • How to look for traffic
  • Negotiating an intersection
  • Avoiding common road hazards

Parents are invited to participate, too.

Please encourage your children to attend this worthwhile event. They will need to bring a bicycle and a helmet. There is no charge for participating and no need to pre-register. Why don't you bring your bicycle and join the fun?
